The circle of people in your life

I believe that people come into our lives at different times and for different reasons.

Some people may be in my life for only a short period of time. Other people have a more important role to play in my life's journey and are with me forever. These are the people who have a positive impact on my mental and physical health and well-being.

If someone is toxic to be around, it may be time to say goodbye. However, just because a friendship diminishes does not necessarily mean I do not care about the other person. It may be that person has no part to play in my life, at that moment in time. Or it may mean that they have given everything that they came to add to my life, and it is now time to let them go. People come and go from our lives for different reasons and at different times, it does not necessarily mean forever. Some friendships rekindle after years of being apart. Some friendships are worth the time and work to keep, even when times get tough.

I have come to realize that it is not the number of people around me that is important. It is having people around me who add quality to my life. I choose to be around people who have a positive mindset. I want to surround myself with people that care about me and people that I can truly care about. People who make me smile, bring me joy and make life a little more enjoyable.

There are people who make me believe anything is possible. People who see the good that is in the world and who don't always focus on the negative. These people bring out the best in me. These are friendships I know will last forever, ones that time and distance cannot destroy. People that are there for me when things are going great, but also there when things are not so great. People that make me feel loved.

I choose to surround myself with positive people who increase my sense of purpose and make my life a little brighter. I know I can count on them for anything, and vice versa. These people in my life ask for nothing in return. These are the people that don't overlook my flaws, they just don't see them to begin with. Unconditional love.

Above all... my life is important. I choose to surround myself with people who are thankful to have me in their life and people who bring out the best in me!
