Practice gratitude!

Updated: Jan 24, 2022

It is normal for us to get excited about significant events in our lives.

However, finding small things that we can be grateful for every day can improve the way we feel about ourselves, reduce our stress levels and even help improve our overall health.

Feeling and expressing gratitude not only helps us to feel good, but these feelings can spread to others around you!

We cannot change what happened yesterday and we have no idea what will come tomorrow. However you can wake up today and decide to start the day off in a state of gratitude.

Start a gratitude journal! Keep a journal by your bed and take a few minutes every morning to write about 2-3 things that you are grateful for. Keep "you" the center of the gratitude by starting with "I am". Examples might be: I am grateful for my good night sleep, I am grateful for the warm morning sun, or even as simple as "I am grateful for my morning cup of coffee!".

Do this every day for a few weeks. You may not feel an immediate change; be patient. The benefits of gratitude take time and eventually you may begin to notice there are many small things that you can be grateful for every day!
