Happy Mother's Day to all moms. A special Happy Mother's Day to someone very close to my heart. This woman is the epitome of motherhood and her children are truly blessed to have such an amazing mommy. She radiates such love and compassion for her children. Happy Mother's Day Chantal! ♥
My own mother has given me so much, and I wanted to give her something from my heart for Mother's Day. This blog is a tribute to you mom.♥
I gave you the pain of childbirth, you gave me the sacrifice of lovingly carrying me in your womb. Motherhood dropped you blindly into a new role and you quickly learned to be a supermom, with no manual. When I was a child you nurtured me and showed me what genuine love and care truly was. I am a good mother to my children because of you. As a young woman, you did not feel the luxury of wearing expensive jewels around your neck. Instead, it was the precious arms of your children hugging you that you chose to feel. I know that the love of my children is far more valuable than any material thing because of you. With such an amazing vocal range, you could have been a professional singer. You chose to use your sweet voice to sing your children to sleep at night. I know how much you loved fancy clothes and shoes, but some of the fondest memories I have with you are the times we were sandy and barefoot at the beach. You love to dance and I remember as a child being silly and dancing around the house with you. You taught me that my passions mean nothing if not shared with the ones I love. I learned to embrace the seemingly silly moments with laughter because of you. When I was a teen, I gave you stress and worry. You gave me understanding, patience and love. When times were tough, you held your head high and kept going. You taught me how to persevere and never give up despite my struggles. Everyone is responsible for their own story. I am a strong, independent woman who chooses how I want to live my life because of you. You care deeply about your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I love this about you. The immense love I felt from you growing up is one of the best gifts you gave me. I try every day to make my children feel this same unconditional love from me, their mother, because of you. You take care of yourself. You exercise, eat healthily and love to walk. At 83 years old, you look more like 65. You have shown me that no matter what your age, you are responsible for how old you feel. You taught me that age is just a number. It doesn't mean as we get older we have to act old. I so look forward to our yearly visits. I feel like a child waiting for Christmas morning the days before you arrive. Our time together is always filled with laughter, love and, of course, some good wine and shopping. The days pass by so quickly and so soon it is time to say goodbye for another year. I miss you dearly the moment you leave. I have realized how very precious you are to me. I am proud to call you my Mother. You are my hero and one of my best friends.
Mom, I want to thank you for all you gave and sacrificed for me as a child. Thank you for all the unconditional love and making me the person I am today. And thank you for everything you continue to do for me and my family. No one could ever take your place in my heart.
Above all... Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mom, Sheila! I love you! ♥
