My Graphic Design degree enabled me to be creative on a computer for many years.
Just over a year ago, I decided to try my hand with actual paint on a canvas. I started using watercolors and loved them. I then moved on to experiment with acrylic paints and painted my first piece. My love for painting exploded overnight!
Since I began this painting journey, I have gifted fourteen originals and sold two large pieces.
Inspired
The joy I feel when I paint is greater than I could have imagined. I am so inspired. I initially painted at the dining table, then moved to a large work area set up in the basement. My dream is to eventually have a small private work studio set up in my house.
When I began painting, I thought myself mediocre and especially not good at painting faces.
I have learned to try anything and everything. Sometimes you need to feel it to paint it, it's OK to start again, sometimes it's when you are ready to give up that you are shown the correct path and most of all, believe in yourself!
I now have two hobbies which I am passionate about; writing and painting. Sometimes, I feel that there is not enough time in the day for both, but I will try! Who knows, maybe one day the two will overlap somehow.
I am not sure where this painting journey will lead, but I plan on appreciating this gift that I have been given and sharing it with anyone who wants to follow.
